A.I. Will Save You Time! (06/26/2026)
I am a developer at heart as I have been programming since the late 1900's. I have used a plethora of languages from Pascal, Perl, C++, ColdFusion and JavaScript to name a few. I have been stuck with ColdFusion since 1997. I love the language and how easy it is to throw together an application.
Unless you have been living under a rock, A.I. has been taking over the past few years. Writing, Images and coding among other categories have taken many jobs from many people. Many college students who began school before A.I. took over are graduating into a market where their degree might be worthless or have taken a big hit.
A.I. will save you time! Yes, it will but at what cost? For me, the cost is learning. I enjoy learning new things. Who cares that my coding process might take several hours and could be completed in several minutes when prompted to an A.I. model? I do! There is a joy in learning the process from beginning to end and coming back later to make it better.
I don't want to release code that has not been written by me. There are many times when the tedious aspects of coding drive me a little nutty, but I put my head down and try to come up with a better way of reusing my code to keep the monotony to a minimum.
The only aspects of A.I. that I feel comfortable with is some basic writing (not my blog of course) snippets to help with wording. I often quote Forrest Gump "I am not a smart man" when it comes to writing. The other aspect is image generation. The slop is getting better, and I am no artist, but I can put words together to help construct an image. That's where my comfort ends. I do get negative comments from people about the A.I. art, but I can live with that for now. Soon, no one will be able to tell the difference.
I am on the fence; I like specific areas of A.I. and hate the other parts. It's a true love/hate relationship and I am waiting for the bubble to burst. A.I. is shrinking the job market which technology has been doing for years but there are usually new jobs being created along the way. A.I. is only creating A.I. jobs and nothing else. It's all-in or you could be done scenario.
If you love or hate A.I., I have a feeling that it might crash and burn at some point but it's not going away.

I don't want to save time with A.I. when I could be learning instead.
