Wrestling is NOT a Sport! (06/16/2026)
I am an avid watcher and listener of ESPN and other sports programs in the morning when I am working on Black Cat White Hat (BCWH). These TV programs covered actual sports until recently. ESPN has begun adding Wrestling segments into SportsCenter and other programs.
My biggest issue is that Wrestling is not a sport.
I was a wrestling fan when I was a young lad, and I remember having friends over to watch when it was on TV. Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior, and Andre the Giant and the list goes on. Candy, soda and Wrestling. Those were good times.
I have since grown up with the understanding that it’s not real. We didn’t have UFC and boxing doesn’t compare.
Anything that is scripted is not real. The actors are very athletic, and injuries are very real but nothing else with wrestling is.
I feel a cringe with myself when the show I am watching jumps to wrestling. The sports anchor begins the segment; I want to change the channel. I can see the anchor going from serious to going along with the crap the wrestler is trying to act out. It’s a joke!
I hope I get some feedback from the adult children that believe in wrestling and please tell me it is real!
