Healthcare: Crackled and Bloody Nuts! (09/27/2025)

It seems to happen to me more frequently when I talk with someone and they tell a joke that is very cringe-worthy. I understand the premise of the joke, but it triggers everything but the funny.

Healthcare in the USA is a cringe-worthy joke but is also very cruel. A backhanded compliment with more backhand than compliment.

It started back in April when I was showering and getting for the day, and my willie wanted an extra tug when cleaning which led to Rosie Palm and her five sisters. What was a little fun turned into horrid curiosity.

When did I start nutting strawberry?

Well, it wasn't strawberry but the beginning of my rabbit hole and healthcare journey. I was a bit freaked out. I tried a few days later hoping it was a one-time deal, but the same result occurred. Bloody-Hell!

I have arthritis in my hips and SI joints, so I am usually in some discomfort, but I started to notice my testicle was beginning to ache and my upper stomach area was slightly discomforted.

Time to head the ER. I just enrolled with Medi-Cal as I was let go from employment. Who can afford COBRA?

I explained to the ER staff what has occurred and that I have had a vasectomy after the birth of my last child many years ago, but they still wanted to check my testicles with an ultrasound. I mentioned if there were baby batter coming through, we would have other problems. Blood tests were normal with no sign of infection. Urine test showed trace amounts of blood. I set up an appointment with my primary Doctor.

While I waited, I began to have pressure in my bung-holio where my prostate resides. It felt like I had to poop.

Dull pain in my nards and pressure in my ass was not something I want to continue to experience.

I met with my new primary Doctor, and he put me on 2 weeks of a special urinary antibiotic and Flomax which did nothing. I went back 2 weeks later and delivered the bad news and was referred to a urologist.

April, it began, May was initial diagnosis of Prostatitis, July was the appointment with the urologist but a week before the appointment, I got a call.

Your insurance was denied. What?

I went through my mail and saw a notice that I missed about more information from me was required. I used the online portal and each time their website claimed that there was nothing required from me. I was confused. The website did show my coverage was denied.

I called and called and left message after message to my case worker and nothing was returned. I finally got someone, and they claimed they denied my coverage and had to start over. They claimed 2 noticed were sent. This wasn't an argument that I would win.

August, I started over and supplied all my information and was able to secure new health coverage. Sweet. The scheduled urologist did not accept this new insurance nor did they accept cash payments. I had to start over with a new primary Doctor.

My appointment with my new primary Doctor went well and urine test showed trace blood in my urine and ordered blood tests. Blood tests again showed no issues or infections.

A referral to a urologist was ordered and MRI of my prostate.

A two month wait for the new urologist was just what the Doctor ordered. Okay, sign me up. Put me on the wait list.

I waited 6 weeks for the new insurance to approve my MRI. I finally got approval.

September, I called the imaging center, and they are booked solid for the next 3 months. I need a specific MRI machine and only a few are available and in high demand.

Each opened door leads not to freedom, but to another locked door, a few inches away.

It might seem like progress is made but there is no movement as the gears in the machine are shredded and grinding away like my crackled and bloody nuts.

Pain is daily, the pressure is always there but there might be hope as my urologist appointment is days away. I could get a diagnosis, but I cannot wait for the new labyrinth to navigate while I try to resolve this issue before it's too late and my prostate nut is gone.

Bloody nuts everywhere
