Certification of Completion: ZFG (09/17/2025)

It seems certifications are the way to go. I continue to read posts and stories about how this specific certification will get you in the door. You need X to get Y and your shit out of luck if you don't.

I have strayed away from certifications due to the money pit they become. The cost of the exam which leads to Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits and their costs. Then you have your renewal fees which can be 1 to 3 years. The "better" certs are yearly.

If you know your stuff you might pay $1,000. Others may spend up to $5,000 to gain certification. It's ridiculous. It might get you the job and it might not. I have seen many certified professionals become unemployed and remain so for many months.

Some jobs require certification, if that is the case and you like the company, go for it. For me, I will pass on the job and the certification. I have knowledge and experience with diagnosing issues and fixing them so I will be just fine.

If you really need certification, I can give you one from BCWH which will show employers your dedication to continued education.

Certification

People have been creating buildings, roads, bridges, and civilizations long before degrees or certifications.
