No man should ever make a 'hand' gun phallic symbol and hold it to your chin for a promo shot. Ever!
The phallic positioning does not show any deep thoughts in progress like pondering about existence and the meaning of life. It makes you look like a schmuck.
If there is a thought bouncing around in their heads, then it should be "Why the hell am I doing this?"
I cringe each time I see one of these photos.
My bet is the photographer suggested the idea as a joke, and they fell for it.
A gun is just a gun in my eyes, but it is clearly used as a phallic symbol and associated with toxic masculinity using imagery and language. Adding this pose with a penis to your face, especially if you have the energy of a sensitive male, makes you look like a doofus. I will rephrase, doing this pose if you are a man or identify as a man, makes you look like a doofus.
You are not James Bond. Why use your hand when you can use a real gun? I mean, come on, I'm not that masculine.
Change my mind. Would you pose in this position to market yourself? With or without an actual gun?
