Big 3 Basketball Blunder (09/01/2025)
I have watched Big 3 hoops since its inception. I enjoyed the format, the teams and their names. The past few years I thought the league might be onto something. A game where retired players have another shot at glory. The games were on TV each week at a different stadium. It was a cool concept.
Everything changed in 2025. They decided to go to a city central format like other leagues in the USA, but they fell flat. Why Boston, LA, Dallas, Miami or Detroit?
They already have a professional baseball team.
They could have at least tried to settle in cities where they don't have a professional basketball team.
Why only 8 teams? There were 12 teams in the 2024 season. What happened?
The TV schedule was another annoyance as it was not consistent. One week was a Saturday. The next was a Sunday. Some games were on at 10 AM (I am PST) and others at Noon and then 1PM. Games were on CBS while others were on another network. It was a pain in the ass to follow.
The game was atrocious at times with bad shooting and passing. The only aspect that keeps Big3 above the WNBA is that these guys can still dunk.
Who won the Big3 championship of 2025? I have no idea.
