Link in the Comments (08/25/2025)

I won't do it. I'm going to put my link in the main post. I don't care.

Social media platforms have been migrating from the idea of extending to websites with the use of Open Graph and Twitter Cards. These are tags that you place within your webpage and platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, etcetera, will read the OG information and display this info within a post.

Now, FB, LinkedIn and other platform algorithms are making the images smaller and less noticeable or not showing these posts at all.

"Just put your link in the comments"

No!

I know this is the way people are doing it now to avoid being deprioritized or penalized but these platforms have ways to keep the user within their platform when viewing something outside their reach.

How do you know the post with a link in the comments won't be penalized?

You don't.

I'm not jumping through stupid hoops to get more impressions. Isn't this what paid posts are for? I'm not going to pay either. I'm not lazy, I don't want to play stupid algorithm games.

I feel my content is good and should get impressions regardless, but this is my delusion. I know the posts won't get many impressions, and I don't really care.

I still put OG and Twitter card information within my webpages. I also have schemas set too for SEO. Do I expect better SEO placement?

I can just feel people pointing their fingers and laughing at me for not playing stupid games.

Pointing and Laughing

I also use Artificial Intelligence for image generation. Who cares? This is another topic where people get their panties in a bunch.
